I'm adjusting to this new environment which doesn't require me to observe the clock. Interesting........Saturday night I watched the Chargers defeat the Colts, SWEET! Then today I watched the Ravens and Eagles advance. I have Super Bowl bets on the
Eagles and Chargers made six months ago. Eagles are at 26 to 1 and Chargers at 7 to 1. It would be cool for both to make it all the way.
I just finished reading a Tom Clancy book, SSN, about nuclear submarines and now I'm reading a Joesph Wambaugh novel, Hollywood Division, about the LAPD in 1996. I think I would have enjoyed being a cop, however, I remember talking to a seasoned LAPD detective in 1968 advising against it, because of politics, sociological changes and various other drawbacks. Now I realize how easy it is to become injured working in that profession.
I'll be meeting Collin and Maggie, his newly adopted chocolate lab, October 13th in San Luis Obispo. We'll drive back together to Cheyenne and I'll visit for a few days.
Megan's blog about Mexico is entertaining. I envy her being in a pristine environment able to observe the majesty of blackened skies sprinkled in a colorful mix of astronomical settings.
Incidentally, my knee is much better and I have no need for crutches. There is some stiffness and tenderness, but now it is quite tolerable. I am certain I made the correct decision in retiring from driving; I would have just continued to cause more pain and damage if I had attempted to gut it out.
Eventually I want to start riding more than just taking Nancy for her exercise sprints and jogs, but that is a few weeks off. For the time being I am going to slowly begin some type of program at 24 Hour Fitness.
Home chores include rearranging and cleaning my room, thinning out my collection of used books, taking my block garden down one level and relocating the soil to relieve pressure against the south side wall. Oh yes, and preparing wholesome meals for myself (Joy is included as long as she isn't too finicky about what I prepare :).....I must admit that some of my concoctions would make someone appear to be finicky if not panicky.

So glad to hear the knee continues to get better. Sounds like retirement is suiting you thus far.
Enjoy your visit to Wyoming!
